Javascript Enabling
If you have pop-ups request when viewing the website this may be because
you have javascript disabled in your web browser
What is Javascript?
Javascript is a scripting language. This lightweight programming language
is embedded into the HTML (hypertext markup language) of a web page.
Javascript is supported by all of the modern browsers, including newer
versions of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox and Opera. It
is a way of adding dynamic content to a website, allowing more interactivity
than is possible with static HTML pages.
Javascript MUST be enabled to view this site in its entirety.
How do I enable Javascript?
- Internet Explorer 6:
Tools > Internet Options > Security > Set security level to Medium.
- Netscape 7:
Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Scripts and Plugins > Check 'Navigator'
- Mozilla:
Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Scripts and Plugins > Check 'Navigator'
- Firefox:
Tools > Options > WebFeatures > Check 'Enable Javascript'
- Opera:
File > Quick preferences > Check 'Enable Javascript'
Why do some people disable Javascript?
There is some concern that the Javascript language can be a security threat,
since it consists of small programming code running in the background.
However, almost anything downloaded from the internet can potentially be
a security threat!
The best way to be safe while not overly restricting your web experience
is to use tools such as virus checkers, firewalls and spyware/adware eliminators
- and keep them up to date!
Also, ensure your operating system patches are current ( eg. regular Windows
updates).
