About the Heli-Skiing Experience at Blanket Bay

Blanket Bay offers an "A la Carte Heliskiing" menu to suit skiers and snowboarders with varying degrees of ability. Each heliski option has been carefully designed to offer a great degree of flexibility allowing everyone to experience the tranquillity, freedom and exhilaration of Heliskiing.

Contrary to the perception that Heliskiing is only reserved for the extreme skier/boarder, with New Zealand's unique geology you can heli-ski on moderate terrain (Ski field blue run equivalent) with your own private helicopter right from Blanket Bay's doorstep. Average heli-ski runs are 700-800 vertical meters in the Southern Alps.

The Clarke Glacier situated only 9 minutes flight from Blanket Bay however is a 1000m run from 2300m to 1300m on a moderate angle to suit most ability's, skiing glacial snow so close to your luxurious accommodation can not be any easier anywhere in the world. Your Heliskiing experience will be personally overseen, guided and co-coordinated to suit your expectations by the senior guides at Southern Lakes Heliski who have safely guided our guests for over 10 years.
