Sep 8, 2007
QUEENSTOWN - Blanket Bay Lodge has placed in the top 3 resort hideaways in the world for an unprecedented fouth year running.
Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report's 24th annual survey is by far the longest running and most reliable poll of its kind conducted among sophisticated frequent travellers. More than 85% of this year's respondents hold the title of President/CEO/Owner/Partner and 90% have traveled outside the U.S. for business and leisure during the past 12 months.
To receive this honor, properties must be intimate in size, located in peaceful surroundings and have a commitment to the personal service of their guests. Blanket Bay Manager, Philip Jenkins said "For Blanket Bay to continue to retain its position in the top three international hideaways in the world is great credit to level of service provided to our guests."
Readers also listed Blanket Bay in eighth place in the Top 20 of the International Resort Hotels poll, with Huka Lodge, Taupo placed in 18th place. "New Zealand now has a strong base of high-end tourism accommodation and that is paying off in international recognition." a delighted Mr Jenkins said. It was also the fourth year that Blanket Bay has featured in the top 10 of the International Resort Hotels poll.
