Arrival and check-in
Pre-dinner cocktails are served from 6.30pm. We encourage you to arrive at the lodge before 5.00pm to allow enough time to be shown around the lodge and settle into your room before the evening service starts. You are welcome to arrive before lunch however we cannot guarantee your room will be ready until 3pm
Transport
We are one hour’s drive from Queenstown airport. (Look at 'Getting there) We are more than happy to arrange transfers on your behalf but experience tells us that the use of a hire car gives guests more flexibility to explore the area.
Dining
We have three dining options at Blanket Bay. The main dining room, the wine cave and outside on the terrace. Private dining in the wine cave is a popular choice forore intimate occasions. Outside on the terrace is weather dependant and there are a limited number of tables. If either the wine cave or outside appeals to you, please let us know in advance. The dress code for dinner is ‘smart-casual’, a jacket and tie is not necessary.
Each night we offer an a la carte menu that changes daily. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please do let us know in advance so we are better prepared to meet your needs. An a la carte lunch menu is available between 12noon and 4pm. Alternatively, if you are out for the day a picnic lunch can be prepared for you.

Activities
There are many varied and exciting activities to experience whilst you are staying at Blanket Bay. We strongly recommend you do not pre-book any of these. Most are dependant on the weather. Due to our location in the Southern Alps the weather is unpredictable. On arrival at the lodge we can discuss all the options in depth and book your preferred activities according to the forecast. Flexibility is the key!
The exception to this rule is fly-fishing. Guides are in high demand and it is necessary to secure their services in advance.
A flight to Milford Sound is always high on the agenda. We can arrange a helicopter private charter or a flight by light aircraft from the airstrip on the property. Whilst you are at Blanket Bay we recommend you do not arrange to originate a flight to Milford
from Queenstown as this requires an hours drive to Queenstown Airport.
